the design/build process in 5 easy steps
FROM START TO FINISH
Step one - initial consultationThe first step in the design/build process begins with an in home meeting between the homeowners and SilverStar Homes to discuss their renovation goals. This gives both parties the opportunity to evaluate the property, discuss design ideas, expectations and budget. If both parties feel that it makes sense to move forward together then we proceed to step two.
|
STEP 2 - Preliminary Design and rough estimate
At this time the design team at SilverStar Homes will create basic drawings detailing the proposed project and prepare a rough estimate outlining the costs. This gives the client the opportunity to see where the design process is headed and further refine the budget. The design team will also verify if the proposed project meets the current zoning requirements or whether a committee of adjustment application will be required. (This typically only applies to larger projects where additions to the existing property effect the exterior of the house.)
|
STEP 3 - WORKING DRAWINGS CONTRACTIf the client is ready to move forward with the project a contract is signed by both parties for the creation of Working Drawings that will be submitted to the city in order to obtain permits. If the project requires a committee of adjustment application drawings can also be created for this application.
|
STEP 4 - FIXED PRICED CONTRACT
SilverStar Homes will now prepare a fixed price contract for the renovation based on the permit drawings, room finish schedules and the details discussed with the client. Every aspect of the project is documented and defined in the contract. Prior to signing, both parties meet to review the contract. Any questions or concerns the client has will be addressed and clarified before signing.

STEP 5 - CONSTRUCTIONWe’ve spent several weeks planning your renovation and now it’s time to build! SilverStar Homes will oversee every aspect of the construction project from start to finish. The only thing you have to do is sit back and watch the progress as your renovation dreams become reality.
