The house had an addition that was added many years ago. It was poorly built and designed and had to be removed
in order to create the space the client wanted.

Excavation and footings
The Excavation didn't begin until early December. To control the quality of the concrete the entire building area was enclosed and heated. It is critical that the concrete does not freeze after pouring and this was the best way to do it.
Basement walls
Insulated Concrete Forms were used to build the basement walls.
framing
The framing was completed with a "moment frame" incorporated into the back wall. The steel frame is anchored to the foundation walls and stops any lateral movement in the structure.
windows/doors/ siding
The windows and doors are installed, then the siding is complete.
removing the brick/stone wall at the back of the house
Once the framing and siding were complete the brick wall at the rear of the original house was removed in order to join the new addition with the existing home. The brick extended from the roof to the basement.
